Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year!
Wednesday, September 1st, 2010Another great year at Wilbur Elementary School! This year I will have the pleasure of working with students from kindergarten through third grade and also fifth grade during RTI time. RTI is an acronym for Responding to Intervention. During RTI, students receive small group reading instruction for 30 minutes each day. This instruction is based on student needs and is in addition to their regular small group instruction during the reading block in their homeroom.
As a Reading Specialist, my job is to diagnose reading weaknesses in my students and to provide appropriate instruction based on those findings. Weekly progress monitoring is done to assess student learning and to guide my instruction.
For more information on reading instruction, please go to your child’s grade level page.
